If you're one, you are incredibly admirable!

Secondary Survivors, although not the actual victims, can still feel the trauma of sexual assault.
Nightmares, insomnia, reminders of what happened to your loved one triggering the imagination, helplessness, confusion, denial, heartbreak - these are some of the emotional distress you can experience from this, especially if they are close to your heart.

One thing people ignore is the fact that sexual assault is a "far away thing" meaning it would never happen to them, or someone they love.

Secondary Survivors, I've known a couple. You guys are some of the most amazing souls. You are the healers to some of the most hurt people in this world.
If you're a Secondary Survivor, keep your heart open, stay patient and be there for them. Love them, it's all they want, to feel they're cared, to feel they're human. These broken hearts need healing, and they chose YOU to do this task. To heal their soul, I can't imagine a more wonderful privlidge.




If you are a Secondary Survivor, or a Survivor yourself, there is hope. You CAN heal. If finding guidance and a shoulder to cry on from a family member or friend where you live is near impossible, one place I recommend visiting is Pandora's Aquarium, made by survivors, for survivors. Secondary survivors are welcome too.
It's got wonderful guides for coping, understanding your past and present situation, and also a place where you can sign up or anonymously share your feelings, even find people who you can relate to you. Talking is one of the most effective ways to heal the heart. They will listen. I've spoken to some myself, they are gosh darned amazing people.
